Salvador Dali is exactly the kind of wackjob that I would want to spend extensive time with. Why? In addition to the obvious body of artwork, he had an inspiring presence. He was eccentric, grandiose, and nothing but ordinary. He also drew a close analogy between food and sex.
He said “every morning upon awakening, I experience a supreme pleasure: that of being Salvador Dalí.” I know I already think this, but putting it in conscious words will make it all the more exciting to start your day. Having a strong sense of who you are is so important.
Happy fucking birthday (yesterday).

Born Dorothy Virginia Margaret Juba, she was an original supermodel and the muse of one of my favorite photographers, Richard Avedon (photos above), who said “She was the last of the great elegant, aristocratic beauties… the most remarkable and unconventional beauty of her time.”

I got all sorts of excited when I peeked over at Photojojo today and saw this awesome underwater camera for such a good price.
Now all I want to do is get some black and white film, my vintage-inspired swimsuit, and snap some photos just like these here that I snagged off the Esther Williams website. Until then, watching Million Dollar Mermaid will have to suffice.

Hello, Beautiful.
